TOPPAN Packaging’s Poznan Plant Celebrates 20th Anniversary

TOPPAN Packaging’s Poznan plant in Poland celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this month.

When the plant first opened its doors in August 2006 under the name Plastique Sp. z. o.o., it produced primarily retail and cosmetics packaging. It later became part of TEQ and expanded into thermoformed rigid sterile barrier packaging before joining the TOPPAN family in 2025.

Today, the facility specializes in medical plastic packaging for the healthcare market, primarily in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland.

Its 60 employees have built a stellar reputation for delivering high-quality products, outstanding service, problem-solving capabilities and teamwork.

“Over the past 20 years, the Poznan team has created a trusted operation that plays a critical role in serving some of the world’s leading healthcare, pharma and medical device companies,” said Pete Gioldasis, Vice President/GM of TEQ Medical at TOPPAN Packaging.

“The dedication, expertise and commitment of our employees have helped establish Poznan as a key part of our global network, delivering the quality, reliability and innovation our customers depend on.”

More Than A Workplace

William Hickling, technical manager, said the plant’s progress has always come down to its people, a point reflected in the stories of employees who have been part of the journey from the very beginning.

Among them is Marcin Przybyszewski, process engineer, who joined the team in 2006 and said the plant has been much more than a workplace.

“I feel like I was born and raised here,” Przybyszewski said. “It’s been a wonderful journey to climb up every rung of the ladder to where I am today.”

Kinga Sosnowska, another employee from the earliest days of the company, shared a similar perspective. The quality coordinator said the company gave her opportunities to learn new skills, advance, participate in interesting projects, and work alongside people she could rely on. Kinga said she was thankful to be “part of this organization and help shape its success”.

Paul Griggs, a Research & Development (R&D) manager, has also been with the Poznan plant since its opening.

“The best thing about working with the team is the determination and the attitude to never take a backward step – always be willing to learn – which pushes the company forward,” Griggs said.

A Culture of Growth

The company culture is defined by determination, a willingness to learn and a readiness to take on new challenges – qualities that have helped TEQ, a TOPPAN Company, get to where it is today and position the plant well for the future.

“Our 20th anniversary is a reminder of how much the site has evolved thanks to the people who have shaped it through their engagement, adaptability, and openness to continuous change, as well as shifting market and environmental demands,” said regional operations manager Jolanta Malicka-Stypka. “As a result, the plant transformed from a more basic operation into a highly reliable, quality-driven facility supporting demanding medical customers with strong KPI performance, technical capability, problem-solving mindset and unwavering focus on quality and continuous improvement.”

Looking Ahead

The plant’s history is a successful evolution into new markets and capabilities, changing products and business structures.

“What excites me most about the future of this plant is the combination of great people and untapped opportunity.”

Jay Patel, Chief Operating Officer, TOPPAN Packaging

“We have a strong team, a culture built on collaboration, and a track record of delivering for our customers,” said Jay Patel, TOPPAN Packaging’s Chief Operating Officer. “Sales growth will be a key part of our success, and achieving that requires everyone to think beyond today’s challenges and embrace a growth mindset.

“When we are open to new ideas, focused on continuous improvement, and committed to winning together, I have no doubt the Poznan team has a very bright future.”

Congratulations to our Poznan team
on 20 years!
