This groundbreaking design marks a step away from traditional plastic blisters, delivering a fully recyclable, curbside-friendly solution without compromising on performance or consumer appeal.
The new Nylabone Chew Toy packaging reflects TFH and Alloyd’s commitment to easily accessible sustainability and ingenuity, offering an alternative that reduces environmental impact while maintaining product integrity. Crafted from FSC-certified SBS paperboard and coated with a water-based finish, the fold-over card design enhances tear resistance and scuff durability, ensuring a strong, reliable package that is compatible with existing Alloyd sealing equipment.
By incorporating folding and die-cutting techniques inspired by the electronics and food industries, the design team engineered internal creases that securely lock the chew in place, protecting it during transit and providing tamper evidence—all without additional materials. This mono-material format simplifies sourcing, enables flat shipping, reduces warehouse space needs, and helps Nylabone eliminate over 40 tons of plastic annually.
On retail shelves, the package stands out with high-definition water-based inks, modern graphics, and thoughtfully designed iconography, ensuring pet parents can easily discern the chew’s texture, size, and dental benefits. The user-friendly design also provides a frustration-free opening experience, delivering both convenience for consumers and clear sustainability wins.
