Flexible Packaging  

Our Flexible journey started in 1993 with the acquisition of Morrill Press which gave us the foundation which we have gone on to build, and was followed by key milestones: 

  • 1999 – Increased our capacity through the acquisition of the flexible packaging division of Coors Brewing, that was part of Graphic Packaging. 
  • 2005 – Added cylinder engraving capabilities with the acquisition of Keating Gravure USA  
  • 2006 – Added flexible capacity with the purchase of Wycon Corporation and the Waco facility of the flexible packaging subsidiary of privately held Seville Flex Pack Corporation 
  • 2015 – Built a Joint Venture with GRAFFO Paranaese de Embalagens in Brazil  
  • 2016 – Acquired Plastic Packaging Inc (PPI
  • 2017 – Became a leader in flexible lidding with the acquisition of Clear Lam Packaging Inc.  
  • 2022 – Acquired the remaining stake of GRAFFO  
  • 2023 – Expanded our presence in Brazil with the acquisition of Inapel Embalagens in Brazil  

Thermoformed Packaging

Our Thermoforming business was built over time through key acquisitions: 

  • 2006 – Through the acquisition of ClearPak, we entered the dipping cup market 
  • 2010 – Became a leader in the frozen and prepared meals market through the acquisition of Associated Packaging Technologies (APT
  • 2011 – Entered the retail segment with the acquisition of Alloyd Brands 
  • 2018 – Through the acquisition of Highland Packaging Solutions, we established our presence in the produce market 
  • 2020 – Entered the medical market with the acquisition of Thermoform Engineered Quality (TEQ) and Plastique Holdings

Better Together

In 2024, these two merged to form Thermoformed and Flexible Packaging (TFP), a core business unit. In 2025, TOPPAN Holdings Inc. acquired the TFP business from Sonoco.
